Walk in the footsteps of the Uganda Martyrs
Every year on 3 June, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims gather at Namugongo, near Kampala, where the Uganda Martyrs were killed in the 1880s. Many walk for weeks to reach the shrine. Safariko Tours organises the journey from Kenya — by road or with a flight into Entebbe — for parish groups, families and individual pilgrims.
The journey from Kenya
-
Depart Nairobi or your town by road via Busia or Malaba border, or fly to Entebbe.
-
Overnight near Kampala, with an early transfer to the shrine for the 3 June Mass.
-
Return journey the next day, or extend with a visit to Jinja and the source of the Nile.
What the package covers
- Return transport from Kenya with border assistance
- Accommodation near the shrine for the celebration days
- Coordination for parish and church groups, including group leaders
- Private pilgrimages outside the June dates, on request
Before you travel
