Safari Planning

Planning your first Kenya safari: what actually matters

Almost every enquiry we receive starts with the same three questions. Here are the honest answers we give on WhatsApp — no sales talk.

Group or private?

A group-joining safari shares a Land Cruiser between up to seven travellers and is the cheapest way to see the Mara properly. A private safari costs more but the vehicle, guide and daily rhythm are entirely yours. If you are two people or more, a private trip often costs less per person than you expect — ask us to quote both.

How many days?

Three days is the minimum that makes the Mara worthwhile: one day to drive down, one full day inside the reserve, one morning game drive and the drive back. Four to six days lets you add Amboseli or the Rift Valley lakes without rushing.

When to come

The migration herds are usually in the Mara from July to October. But the “off-season” months bring lower prices, fewer vehicles at sightings, and resident wildlife that never migrates. There is no bad month — only different trade-offs.

We know where the action is gonna be. Tell us your dates and budget, and we will tell you where to go.
