The route
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 Nairobi to Amboseli
Leave Nairobi after breakfast and drive south to Amboseli. Afternoon game drive with Mount Kilimanjaro behind the elephant herds, weather permitting.
Day 2 Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
Early game drive in Amboseli, then a long drive up into the Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. Afternoon boat ride among hippos and fish eagles.
Day 3 Naivasha to Lake Nakuru
Short drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Game drive along the lakeshore looking for rhino, Rothschild's giraffe and flamingos when conditions are right.
Day 4 Nakuru to the Masai Mara
Drive west across the Rift Valley to the Masai Mara, arriving for a late lunch. Afternoon game drive on the way to camp.
Day 5 Full day in the Mara
A full day of game drives in the reserve with a picnic lunch. Your driver-guide follows the day's best sightings, and in season you head for the migration crossings.
Day 6 Maasai village and return to Nairobi
Visit a Maasai village in the morning, then drive back to Nairobi for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
