The route
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Amboseli
Transfer to Wilson Airport and fly to Amboseli. Your guide meets you at the airstrip for a game drive on the way to camp, with Kilimanjaro in the background.
Day 2 Full day in Amboseli
Morning and afternoon game drives in Amboseli, famous for its big-tusked elephants and views of Kilimanjaro in clear weather.
Day 3 Fly to the Masai Mara
Fly back via Wilson and on to the Masai Mara. Land at the airstrip and game-drive your way to the lodge or camp in time for lunch.
Day 4 Game drives in the Mara
A full day exploring the reserve: lions, cheetahs and, in season, the wildebeest herds along the Mara River.
Day 5 Second full day in the Mara
Another full day of game drives. Ask your guide to visit a different sector of the reserve or to wait at a crossing point during the migration months.
Day 6 Drive to Lake Nakuru
Leave the Mara by road and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, with an afternoon game drive among the rhinos.
Day 7 Great Rift Valley to Nairobi
Morning game drive in Nakuru, then drive to Nairobi with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
